Where does my PDF go?
Nowhere. It is read in this tab and kept in this browser's own storage. There is no upload endpoint in this app at all.
Whose voice is it?
Your device's. macOS, Windows, iOS and Android all ship speech voices, and this uses those, which is why it starts instantly and works offline.
Will it read a scanned book?
Not yet. A scan is a picture of a page with no text underneath it. If the PDF has no readable text, the app says so instead of playing silence.
Do my PDFs stay if I close the tab?
Yes. They and your place in them are stored in this browser. Clearing site data or switching browsers clears them, because that storage is the only copy.
What does it cost?
Nothing. There is no account, and nothing to pay for.
